Project Examples
Based on the information you provide, students will develop a training and development action plan, which can include ready to use templates, processes, strategy, and high-level training design that will support the training and development of your employees. Student teams will address any area of the organization that you believe will benefit most from improved training and development, and provide innovative solutions and support to reduce the time to value for employees taking on new tasks or domains, or existing employees who would benefit from new training initiatives.
Project Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Build a detailed employee life cycle journey map to identify gaps in training and development that can lead to improved performance of new and existing employees.
- Propose training and development solutions aligned with your organization’s competencies.
- Create a training plan for training new employees, which could include company on-boarding and skills required on-the-job.
- Create a training plan for training existing employees on new processes or procedures (i.e. security awareness, new products), or to support succession planning efforts in your organization.
- Create a needs analysis plan that you can take forward and implement (e.g. templates for surveys, questions, etc.).
- Create a high-level plan for Leadership Development, Career Development, Training for Diverse Employees (e.g. leadership development training, career development guide, mentorship or coaching program for women, minorities, etc.).
This list of project examples is by no means exhaustive. If you have another project idea that relates to employee training and development, please use Riipen’s in-app chat to contact the professor, who will work with you to determine if it’s a fit for this assignment.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick phone call with the organizer to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience. Advise the instructor if students will be required to sign an NDA prior to beginning the project.
Provide a dedicated contact who will be available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address student’s questions or provide additional information. Minimum of 2-4 interactions with each student group leader (approximately 4-6 hours over the duration of the project). Let the students/instructor know if you will be away for an extended time (e.g., vacation).
Provide an online video or link to your website to introduce the students to your organization prior to starting the project.
Share feedback and recommendations about the project deliverables with the students and instructor.
The Instructor may ask that you participate in an Instructor-led webinar session for students at the beginning of the project by providing an overview of your organization, project and desired/expected outcomes.
There will be several student groups participating. To provide efficiency in the information sharing process and minimize the time commitment required by the organization, 2 - 3 web conferences may be scheduled in advance with the lead of the participating organization at the appropriate intervals.
