project scoping communication non-disclosure agreement (intellectual property law)International Indigenous Speakers Bureau uses the Level UP program (powered by Riipen) to allow work integrated learning (WIL) experiences for Canadian post-secondary students for 80-hour paid projects. Students are paid a $1400 CAD stipend on completion of the project by Riipen. Employers are not required to provide payment.
Once approved, students must apply to your project directly - individually, or in teams. Students may be from any eligible Canadian post-secondary institution, and in any academic program.
Students can request access to this program here.
While deliverables will vary depending on the project scope, at the conclusion of the project you should have a completed report or other assets that you can use to further your business goals. Maintaining communication with students throughout the project will lead to better results.
Note: If students are completing confidential work that you do not want shared through Riipen, you must create and sign off on a time sheet for the student in addition to feedback. In this case, we might also recommend that you have the student(s) sign an NDA before starting your project.
If you have questions or need help, please email us at levelup@riipen.com.

Project Examples
Projects should be approximately 80 hours in length. Here are some guidelines to follow:
- Given the short, remote nature of Level UP, we require a project-based experience. If your project looks like a job posting, we can not accept it. Please provide a concrete scope for the student’s work and limit their work to a single project.
- If you choose to use a template from our library, ensure that you have added as much context for your business needs as possible. Our team will not accept any projects that were created from a template without sufficient customization. While students will interact with you to complete the project, we want them to be able to understand the scope of the project by reading your project details. This will also help to ensure that you have the right students applying to your projects!
Note: Once we accept a project, this does not guarantee that students will apply to your project.
