Are you looking to pair with a school that ensures students are equipped with the vital skill sets needed to ensure the success of the practice and the overall quality of health care it provides?
Students in the Office Administration Health program at Centennial College are excited to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they've acquired during their two-year program during their Field placement opportunity in their final semester. Our students understand what it takes to run an efficient office within a medical practice, clinic or other health care setting and are eager to assist where and when needed.
Field placement is for credit towards completion of their program.
Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project. The student will complete 196 hours with your organization by April 4th 2021.

Project Examples
OA Health field placement students can complete and assist with an array of projects for your organization over their placement period.
Students in the Office Administration Health program at Centennial College can successfully complete projects for a range of areas. Students are armed with knowledge and are able to assist with projects related to, but not limited to:
- Scheduling, task coordination, and organizational skills to facilitate the completion of tasks and to meet deadlines in the medical environment.
- Establishing and maintaining data management systems to organize electronic and paper records for the medical environment.
- Organizing, processing, and responding to electronic and paper communications to facilitate the flow of information in the medical environment.
- Producing accurate financial and billing records for the medical environment within a specified time frame by compiling information and using the appropriate software.
- Producing accurate medical correspondence and reports by a specific deadline using available computer technology as well as by applying recording, editing, and language skills.
- By leveraging their professional interpersonal skills they can effectively assist in the completion of individual and team tasks, to ensure effective client service, and to promote the image of the organization.
- Troubleshooting and showing initiative in the creation and production of accurate organized medical documents within a specified time frame.
- Providing technical support and training related to computer software to others in the medical environment as required.
- Use the Internet and its tools in a medical environment to enhance communication and business opportunities.
- Demonstrate administrative skills to enhance the effective operation of the workplace.

- Diagnostic and lab procedures
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a short phone call with the coordinator to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the internship.
Provide a dedicated contact who will act as the student's primary supervisor over the duration of the virtual placement/project. A secondary contact should be provided as a backup. Students will interact virtually with their primary contact on a daily basis, or as needed and agreed upon.
In conjunction with the student, complete a learning agreement outlining the expectations and learning objectives that will be achieved during the field placement.
Sign weekly hour log to verify student’s completed hours.
Complete a mid-term evaluation of student performance and end of term evaluation of student performance.
Weekly 1 hour meetings between the student and site supervisor (can be done by phone or video conferencing).
