MacEwan University Political Science Field Placement Opportunity

MacEwan University’s political science program has developed an exciting new opportunity for students and government and community partners working on political and public policy issues. Our new field placement course allows students to receive course credit for working with a partner organization on a project that is broadly related to politics and public policy. Examples of projects include, but are not limited to: cost-benefit analysis, jurisdictional policy scans, major literature reviews, designing and assisting with public consultations. The placement would involve approximately 80 hours of work between January and April 2025. The student will prepare a final report as well as several smaller assignments or reflections as part of the course, which will be accessible to the partner. Partners are expected to provide basic support and guidance throughout the placement, but the course instructor will be the main point of contact, providing support on all tasks and grading all assignments.
