survey design research skills data analysis written communication skillsA group of advanced psychology students will work with you to design an effective survey that will enable you to collect meaningful data from your population of interest. Time-permitting, students may also help you assess the outcomes that are important to you.
Every student will be responsible for submitting a full set of project deliverables, plus a reflection on what they learned while working on the survey project. We will then combine/select from among the best deliverables to deliver you a single project report.
Depending on the specific nature of the project, it is also possible that the students will work in teams and that each team (max of 4) would submit a set of deliverables.

Project Examples
Online surveys are a great way to quickly collect data from large groups of people. However, the results of any survey are only as good as the items that are used, and unfortunately poorly designed surveys are commonplace.
As a class, we will work with you to design a survey that measures your outcome(s) of interest. Students will also either conduct pilot testing or (if feasible) help you collect data from your population of interest, and will provide you with a report that includes a description of the purpose of the survey, a copy of all items, and a data analysis plan. Students will work to ensure that you are able to accurately answer the most pressing questions you have about your population of interest (e.g., donors, customers, employees). These may include questions about attitudes, feelings, behaviours, characteristics, and so on. For example, you may wish to determine how loyal your current customers are, how committed volunteers are to your organization, or how personality variables correlate with different roles and behaviours within your company.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Be available for a quick call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Provide a dedicated contact who will be able to answer periodic emails over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
Able to visit the class (remotely or in-person if local) at the start of the project (October - exact date and time TBD).
Provide feedback on the single set of deliverables you are given.
