The Advertising Program at Centennial College's Story Arts Centre in Toronto is an intensive, three-year, hands-on learning experience. It has consistently been amongst the top ranked Advertising Programs in the Province based on Student, Grad and Employer Satisfaction.

Project Examples

In year three, students choose an area of specialized study. They can select from Account Service, Media or Digital Creative.

Account Management

· Status Reports, Contact Reports, Budget Control Reports, Workback Schedules.

· Coordinate broadcast, print, interactive, mobile production.

· Project Management – job requisitions.

· Liaison with departments within the agency and Client contact as appropriate.

· Provide assistance with research, meeting preparation and presentation, store checks, competitive analysis.

· Assist with new business research, preparation and pitches.

Media Planning/Buying

· Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and superb formula creations such as:

  • IF commands
  • COUNT commands
  • V and H LOOKUPS
  • Straight and Weighted Averages

· Discrepancies, make-goods, post buys, all media costings.

· Broadcast buying

· Proven competencies with Media software platforms:

  • Vividata: Telemar
  • comScore
  • CARD online

· Publication POVs; analyze rep submissions.

· Budget Control Reports, Status Reports, Contact Reports, Workback Schedules.

· Liaison with departments within the agency and Client contact as appropriate

Digital Creative

· Retail, national, social, mobile, web-based copywriting.

· Proven competencies in: Adobe Photoshop; Illustrator and InDesign.

· Creative brainstorming.

· Liaison with departments within the agency and Client contact as appropriate.

· Provide assistance with presentations.

· Content research and creating written or visual content

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
