Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?

We would like students to help us with creating various multimedia content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and market. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization.

La Connexional is a community focused social enterprise that is run by a team of dedicated individuals on a part-time basis. We have steadily grown over 4 years, from inaugurating Alberta's only Afro-Latin Festival to building a robust and resilient community through innovative events and workshops. We're currently formalizing our processes and developing new revenue streams in light of the COVID-19 pandemic with the goal of scaling La Connexional nationally and creating impactful employment opportunities. Furthermore, depending on the state of the pandemic, we are also positively planning for our Afro x Latin Festival YEG to take place on March 4 & 5th of 2022.

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Write blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on assigned topics;
  • Create graphic design and digital content to promote our merchandise using professionally done photos from creative shoots such as this John Ware inspired photoshoot (And many more)
  • Repurpose multimedia content (from previous experiences like our Explorational Summit) across different platforms (podcast, Tik Tok, Instagram reels, etc... using software provided by our collective (or your own if desired)
  • Potentialy support the design of a "more" minimalist logo based on our current one
  • Help create copywriting and design posters for product and/or event launches;
  • Assist with a social media video launches to promote our organization;
  • Bring their creativity and ideas to the table and help bring them to life;
  • Manage & rejuvenate our website under our team's supervision

Ideally, the chosen intern will be working on content creation for our organization, including video, social media, and other avenues that we can use as go-to marketing tools. The most important social media channels for us are Instagram & Facebook and we're looking to develop our Tiktok account as well. Ultimately, La Connexional wants to ensure the intern has a valuable experience and is flexible in providing the intern with projects and work that best align with their future career goals and plans.

We would provide access to a number of different online tools (such as canva, invideo, blogely, writesonic, and other content creation tools) and we are very open to acquiring new ones to help them achieve their goals.

Our handle is @laconnexional across all socials. Give us a follow !

If you like the sights and sound of our culture, looking to join a dynamic team that gives back to the community and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.

A student or team with excellent writing, video skills, and creativity would be the ideal candidate for this project. However, we encourage people from all walks of life and backgrounds to apply as our social enterprise prides itself as being an environment where failures and mistakes are welcome to ultimately cultivate life-long growth and skills-building
