Project scope
What is the main goal for this project?
  • To craft a narrative that attracts and engages event planners, thereby boosting visibility and appeal to attract new festivals, fairs, conferences, and cultural events to our destination.
  • To create detailed marketing communications templates to elevate our venues as prime event locations, showcasing their unique qualities.

What tasks will learners need to complete to achieve the project goal?
  • Work with the BIA to refine a list of venues to include for approval i.e. our main hotel, our main square, the Meridian Arts Centre, Lee Lifeson park, other key parks, key larger buildings with facilities, etc.
  • Research potential event organizers and information online in order to provide a more tailored presentation of venue capabilities.
  • Create a detailed marketing plan that includes objectives, target audience, promotional tactics, and key messaging.
  • Prepare a pitch document that can be used by the BIA team to approach potential event organizers. Use our template deck for our main square as a template. The deck should include visuals, data, written text and appropriate links.
  • Create a deck as well as a 2-pager version of the promotional materials. Infographic style would be preferred.
  • Design the content and layout for a new webpage/subpages with different sections to promote our event venues and their offerings, similar to Yonge-Dundas Square and Mississauga Celebration Square's web pages.
