The mission of the Edmonton Short Film Festival (ESFF) is to screen a variety of independent Alberta short films and to showcase local filmmakers whose work may fall outside of the “normal” festival market. Or annual festival takes place on the 3rd weekend of October. Our passion is to help emerging and mid-career artists grow in their careers by offering high quality workshops and feedback on the projects they have submitted to the festival. As a grassroots festival created by Edmonton filmmakers, we also invite the community into the world of filmmaking through free events: a Filmmaking “Production Basics” Class, a 48-Hour Mobile Device Filmmaking Challenge and Community Screening events.
