Background

Traxidy project management work tracking software has been available for about two years and is continually improving. Our goal is to be an easy-to-use, intuitive application for project managers to use to control project tasks, report status, and collaborate with teammates. Project status as GYR (Green, Yellow, Red) is very subjective and almost a ‘gut-feel’ rather than a statistically objective understanding of the current and historical project data.

 

Work Request

Work directly with the Traxidy CEO and Founder to create an Analytics Dashboard, using a statistical analysis of the current project data, predict the status of all the key aspects of the project delivery (work completion, risk analysis, change management, lessons learned) and the overall predictable success of the project. The Dashboard is to use machine learning to generate next steps that the Project Manager should take, to return all key aspects of the project to a Green/Good status. These next steps are suggested by machine learning and experience (kept as a separate data set managed by Traxidy).

Deliverables Include

  • enable tailored adjustments of the assessment criteria for the user to input/adjust
  • several dashboard charts depicting the level of the status of the key areas and trends
  • a user/report dashboard
  • administration screen for interacting with machine learning data
Deliverables

The main areas of work for the students in this project include:

  • Create a prototype, a project timeline, and a test plan that will mine the existing project data, perform analytics, produce charts, and generate/show suggested next steps information (text), based on the resulting analytics.
  • Design and build a new area (Success Metrics Dashboard) to be made part of the Traxidy application, where the information is presented and:
  1. Show the current individual pieces of project data
  2. Suggest other data sets that could be used for the assessment
  3. Suggest a graphical representation of the resulting status of each critical work area assessment
  4. Suggested a graphical assessment of the project's overall current status
  5. Develop an ability to adjust the weighting criteria in the model as required
  • Build an admin area to enable the loading and retrieval of text/data, used to suggest the potential next steps to the user, based on the assessments of each critical work area 
  • Ensure the new area within Traxidy is responsive on all devices
  • Implement the (Success Metrics) area and test in the Traxidy Staging environment
  • Develop as-is user documentation

Traxidy is using Laravel PHP coding and a MySQL database and we would want that to continue.

Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. The CEO will make this interaction a priority and devote the required time to answer questions and encourage and support the student.


We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • What does our current software and data set program look like
  • How is project management used to organize, control, and complete any work
  • Input on choices, discussions of options, assistance with problems, or anything else the students might encounter.
