Details

Vancouver Page Digital Inc. (www.vancouver.page) aims to revamp our current website with a prototype to enhance user experience in discovering top local businesses, events, and offers in Metro Vancouver. Additionally, the platform enables local business owners and event organizers to seamlessly add and manage their listings.

This will involve:

  1. Conducting thorough research on our existing website.
  2. Reviewing competitor websites and providing a SWOT analysis.
  3. Compiling a list of essential features for the website redesign to ensure user-friendly interactions for both regular users and business owners/event organizers.
  4. Identifying key areas of improvement on our current website and focusing on areas likely to yield the best results in the redesign.
  5. Mastering various software design tools. We highly recommend proficiency in Figma, the latest and most advanced tool available.
  6. Creating a detailed screen-by-screen UX/UI prototype of the website, optimized for all major browsers and mobile devices. The design should prioritize SEO-friendliness.
  7. Conducting UX/UI testing with potential users, possibly employing paper prototypes or other software tools to support the testing process.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students are expected to complete the following activities:

  1. Familiarize themselves with our existing services.
  2. Become proficient in a design tool of their choice; Figma is highly recommended.
  3. Design and build all necessary screens for a redesigned prototype of our services within the chosen design tool.
  4. Present the final design screens to us, providing context for their choices, detailing any challenges faced, and suggesting future steps.

Bonus activities may include:

  1. Conducting user testing on the prototypes to ensure user-friendliness and collect valuable feedback.

Final deliverables should include:

  1. The design screens and all associated assets in a shareable format.
  2. A presentation, as described earlier, outlining the final designs and the design process.
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Current product understanding
  • Industry standard design tools and applications
  • Any sort of branding or styling advice
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter
