Details

Project: Human City aims to revitalize abandoned mines by identifying geological patterns that indicate potential for deeper drilling and renewed viability. The project focuses on analyzing geological data to uncover patterns that can predict the success of reactivating such mines. Using Kidd Mine as a case study, learners will apply their classroom knowledge of geology and data analysis to identify key indicators of viable mining sites. The goal is to develop a methodology that can be used to assess other abandoned mines for potential redevelopment. This project provides an opportunity for learners to engage with real-world geological challenges and contribute to sustainable mining practices.

- Analyze geological data from Kidd Mine.

- Identify patterns indicating potential for deeper drilling.

- Develop a methodology for assessing abandoned mines.

- Apply classroom knowledge of geology and data analysis.

Deliverables

The deliverables for this project include a comprehensive report detailing the geological patterns identified at Kidd Mine and a proposed methodology for assessing other abandoned mines. Additionally, learners will create a presentation summarizing their findings and recommendations for Project: Human City. This project will culminate in a set of guidelines that can be used to evaluate the viability of other abandoned mines.

- Comprehensive report on geological patterns.

- Proposed methodology for mine assessment.

- Presentation of findings and recommendations.

- Guidelines for evaluating abandoned mines.
