At KDPM we are passionate about promoting the expert viewpoint, research, voices and storytelling of Black, Indigenous and women of colour whose work focus on Human and Cultural Equity. Our mission is to decentralize the white gaze by building awareness of ancestral matriarchal intelligence and knowledge systems.


Collaborating with students to we aim to achieve 2 key outcomes:

  1. Catalogue and curate existing content
  2. develop and distribute a newsletter promoting our cause.


This will involve several deliverables:

  • Conduct / review background research on the cause
  • Design ways to implement existing database of content
  • Brainstorm journey sequences, topics, guide books and more for each issue.
  • Set, coordinate, and enforce deadlines.
  • Create materials to be published and making revisions based on feedback.
  • Proofread drafts of newsletters and recommending areas for improvement.


Bonus steps in the process would also include:

  • Recommend solutions to increase awareness of the cause.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should achieve the 2 core project objectives:

  1. Catalogue and curate existing content
  2. develop and distribute a newsletter promoting our cause.


To achieve those goal we anticipate the students to demonstrate

  • Understanding of the cause
  • Review and catalogue current content
  • Identify content gaps and recommend relevant topics
  • Plan and draft newsletter content calendar for the year
  • Develop / draft newsletter profiling approved content for publishing


Bonus steps would include:

  • Exploring other ways of improving awareness


Final deliverables should include

  • Newsletters Content -
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. Our hope is to develop a collaborative working relationship where idea and implementation can be shared among the collective.


We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Our organization’s mission and goals
  • Our awareness campaigns
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
