Students will solve the challenge of creating an intuitive and user-friendly platform for co-owners managing shared properties. By the end of the project, we expect students to deliver improved user experiences through thoughtful design, streamlined workflows, and enhanced visual appeal. The goal is to empower home buyers and simplify the co-ownership process.
Here are the key tasks that students will need to complete in order to successfully achieve the project goal of redesigning the home co-ownership app and website:
- User Research:
- Conduct user interviews with potential co-owners to understand their pain points, needs, and preferences related to co-ownership.
- Gather insights on how users currently manage shared properties and identify areas for improvement.
- UX Content Creation:
- Develop clear and concise content for the app and website. This includes crafting engaging copy for features, tooltips, notifications, and other user-facing elements.
- Ensure that the language used aligns with the brand and resonates with the target audience.
- Wireframing and Prototyping:
- Create wireframes for essential app screens (e.g., property listings, co-owner profiles, financial tracking).
- Develop low-fidelity prototypes to visualize the user flow and interactions within the app and website.
- Visual Design:
- Collaborate with visual designers to translate wireframes into high-fidelity mockups.
- Pay attention to branding, color schemes, typography, and iconography to create a cohesive and visually appealing design.
- Usability Testing:
- Conduct usability tests with potential users to validate design choices.
- Iterate based on feedback and make necessary refinements.
- Co-ownership App Redesign:
- Enhance the app’s interface, navigation, and overall user experience.
- Optimize workflows for co-owners managing shared properties, such as expense tracking, communication, and property search.
- Website Redesign:
- Revamp the website’s layout, information architecture, and visual appeal.
- Improve accessibility and responsiveness for a seamless browsing experience.
Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:
- Mentorship: Our experienced designers will provide a minimum of 5 hours of mentorship per team. They’ll address specific project challenges, offer career advice, and create a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborative Tools: Students will have access to design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD. These tools will facilitate wireframing, prototyping, and visual design tasks.
- Data Access: We’ll provide relevant data related to co-ownership scenarios, user behavior, and existing app usage. This data will inform design decisions.
- Feedback Loops: Regular feedback sessions will help students iterate on their designs. We encourage open communication and constructive feedback.
- Project Management: Our project managers will guide students through milestones, ensuring they stay on track and meet deadlines.
