For a while during my project the communication was not ideal but overall I enjoyed working with them. They were helpful when I had questions and were very easy to work with

Employer was not responsive and unfortunately I had to complete the project, which took a lot more than 80 hours, on my own without any feedback or guidance on how to proceed each week.

This was a great opportunity to work on my creative writing in a professional environment. The internship was very hands off, allowing a lot of creative freedom. I would definitely do it again.

A solid learning experience, that gave me a deeper understanding of how to write and block out a story. The Fiction Agency gave me a well rounded experience that taught both writing skills and punctuality in a concise and informative way.

This project was a great way to explore my creative freedom and interests. It broke down the task of plotting out an entire novel into smaller, manageable pieces. It was a lot of work and required good time-management skills, but I would definitely recommend this project if you enjoy writing.

This project was a great writing experience with enough room for adjustments and adaptability for creative writing students. Writing fiction is a tricky genre because even though it is mainly about great creative ideas, getting the reader to engage, understand and anticipate the story is a whole new different thing. The way the project was organised is a very helpful way to aid students to manage and section their work. The patience and encouragement from the editors was also very motivating.

Really fun task that helped me learn more about the publishing world

Overall the experience went well. I felt like I was given complete creative freedom to write the story I wanted to tell. The one area I felt needed improvement was response time. Often I would request guidance or feedback and it would take a little under two weeks to get a response. However, overall I felt the collaboration with the employer was a success!

I loved working with Ardin; he is very nice and understanding. He is also really helpful. I would like to communicate further though. Follow ups more often would definitely be beneficial. I also think staggering the deadlines for scenes would be better. For instance, instead of having 1 scene due daily, I would suggest 1 scene every couple of days-- especially as this is an internship and many people are busy with school and also working so they can afford their lives/ to go to school.

An interesting opportunity that allows you to practice your creativity and enhance your writing skills! The communication between reviewers and the writers could be improved, but there was a good amount of creative freedom for the writers!

I enjoyed having the creative freedom to write for them. If you enjoy writing stories I would highly suggest working for this company.

The instructions and expectations the employer had given to me at the beginning were very clear. I would recommend anyone who wants to enter a writing-based field to apply to any future projects with this employer.

Ardin was very nice, understanding, and willing to compromise. This is a very small operation, with just him at the helm, so I'm sure he's working overtime trying to wrangle all these writers. My only caution would be to look closely at the contract you have to sign to begin writing. You have to sign away your rights to anything you create. Essentially, all written work will belong to the company. You're not allowed to say that it's your work publicly, or to anyone in the writing world. There is a clause allowing disclosure in places like job interviews, but that's basically it. If the company ends up publishing the work, it will be under a pseudonym. I was quite weary of these terms and didn't end up signing. I instead negotiated for an editing position, where I reviewed the stories that came in. I enjoyed it very much. I once again want to stress that this is a very small business, and I understand that story rights can be complex. Ghostwriting for a sum and not a percentage might be a great deal for you! Just take the time to read the contract and understand what you're getting in to.

Writing the story was an amazing experience, made even better by having an understanding supervisor. His clear guidance and instructions for the project were well laid out, which made it incredibly easy to follow. This clarity allowed me to fully immerse myself in the creative process, exploring the depths of my imagination and crafting a compelling narrative. The support and clarity provided by my supervisor truly enhanced the joy of writing the story.

Great experience! Had a lot of freedom while also knowing the expectations. It was challenging but so fun. Ardin was great to work with and passonite.
