This internship will directly support our core impact of: SDG 8 in our effort to boost the economic output of the nonprofit sector, SDG 9 in our corporate giving innovation to reduce turnover, boost engagement, and corporate purpose, SDG 11 in supporting sustainable communities with thriving nonprofits, and SDG 17 in supporting partnerships between companies, nonprofits, and governments.
Operations

We would like to equip our sales team with a plan that guides them in researching new prospects, identifying key contacts, and reaching out with compelling messages. We would like you to create a simple step-by-step strategy for prospecting in our target market. The project may include, but is not limited to: Identifying new potential accounts that align with our current customer base. Compiling relevant market information. Create marketing emails to result in sales conversions. Building a customizable operations plan. Creating a simple tracking framework, including metrics, for measuring outreach success.
UX/UI Design

Do you have a background or interest in user experience design or user interface design? We’d love to see what you would do with our flagship web-app. Put yourself in the shoes of a user experience designer working for our company, and give this page a complete refresh. If you were redesigning this page to increase conversion rates, visual appeal, clarity, and customer delight - what would you change? This can include adding or removing elements from the page, adding interactive or animated features, changing the customer journey from this page, and/or completely redesigning the look and feel. Outcomes Your challenge submission can be an interactive mockup, flat wireframes, a functional website, a photoshop file - whatever gets your vision across. Please feel free to be creative and depart from the design of the rest of the site if you choose, but submissions that take into consideration our branding will be assessed more favourably.

Social Enterprise Business Model Review
Number of Students: Up to 4 Term: 8 weeks starting as soon as possible To achieve B-Corporation certification, our company must receive a minimum score on social and environmental performance. This is an online assessment that is overseen by the independent body that certifies B-Corporations (the B Lab). The assessment covers our entire operations and measures our impact in governance, workers, community, the environment, as well as our products and services. We also must integrate sustainability commitments to stakeholders into our governing documents. Project focus should include: An assessment of our current business model, which will allow us to identify our areas for improvement. A strategy plan, based on the score assessment, that identifies the areas in which we need to improve performance to achieve the threshold score for B-Corporation certification. The final project deliverable is a presentation detailing our current score, areas for improvement, and a strategy plan for meeting the B-Corporation certification requirements within a 1-month period.
Web Application Development & QA
Positions available: One team of up to 4 students Term: 8 weeks starting as soon as possible Join us to create a leading platform for social and environmental impact! We are seeking talented software engineers to help us with QA and mini feature development on the MERN stack. Students should be prepared to: Run QA tasks on the current software stack Conduct a needs analysis to determine which solution is most suitable. Create a design proposal including mock-ups, budget, and timeline. Build a fully-functioning features in React or Node.JS Provide training on updating and maintaining the site.
Financial/Accounting Assistance
Number of Students: Up to 2 Commitment: 80 hours over 8 weeks Our team is looking for someone who loves numbers, spreadsheets, and accounting software (i.e. Quickbooks, Xero, Netsuite - We use Wave Accounting). We need help catching up on a few tasks and developing processes to make it easier going forward. If you're hard-working and dedicated, we’d love to help you gain some professional experience and grow your skills! Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to: Support in finance, account payable and receivables, and invoicing related tasks Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards Compile year-end files for annual return and tax return Support special projects and accounting team

We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. MeaningfulWork is a social venture with a vision to empower every human to give, grow, and build better impact, together. We are building a SaaS marketplace solution to connect corporate employees to nonprofits for skill-based volunteering. We are seeking content creators to assist us in creating materials to engage companies and nonprofits on their path to social purpose. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: Write blog articles, email newsletters/sequences and other content pieces on assigned topics Assist with a social media video launch to promote our organization Evaluate recent successful user-generated campaigns, preferably in our sector Identify media outlets that are most beneficial to share our story Ultimately, you will be working on content creation for our organization, including video, social media, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools.
