Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from Laurentian University to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program will cover topics in data management including peer-to-peer data sharing, data integration, and data exchange, data cleansing, data provenance, data quality, data mining and uncertain data Students would be available for 180 hours for an internship. These students are looking for both paid and unpaid internships with a preference for paid experiences. Please indicate in your project submission which you are able to offer.
Virtual Projects and Placements in Indigenous Social Work
One or more HBSW Indigenous social work students from Laurentian University are available to be your virtual interns, in a project- or virtual service-based experience. Students will engage in one or more projects or services of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students are available for up to 400 hours of placement from September to April 22, 2022. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually. These project or service offerings are part of the field education experience, an agency-based course in which students apply, in supervised practice , the theoretical concepts, principles, values, and ethics taught in the classroom. In addition to the supervised learning of skills with individuals, families, and groups, students will be socialized to the identity of a professional social worker and the many roles that social workers occupy in agencies and the community.

Sports Administration - Business Student Internship - Virtual Option
Challenge 3rd and 4th-year business students to be your virtual interns! They will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as required through virtual communication tools. Students are required to complete 560 hours of placement, primarily in 2 forms, Full-time or Part-time (flexible). Undergraduate students who have generally fully completed their third and sometimes their fourth year of the Bachelor of Commerce (SPAD) program may choose to participate in this program. Students have the opportunity to apply classroom concepts to the challenges of business life as they gain valuable, relevant work experience as an intern student within your organization. The goal of this course project is for students to develop environmental communication and problem-solving skills through action. Companies can propose topics that students can work on. Some examples include: Climate change responses Environmental education Community engagement Marketing sustainability products Public policy advocacy Environmental assessment and governance Environmental planning Waste management and auditing Broad socio-environmental and sustainability issues Students enrolled in this course are from Science and Social science backgrounds who have an interest in promoting environmental education and sustainability both in the formal and non-formal settings.

Looking for a bright student on an applied project? Bring on one or more students from Laurentian University's Sports Administration (SPAD) program for your applied industry project challenge. Students will work on a major projects of your choosing over the 3 credit course period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students are available for 280 hours of project work over a flexible 3 or 6 month project schedule. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student projects are intended to be primarily remote, virtual and applied. As restrictions and safety is planned and events open up, on premise work may become viable.

Virtual Co-op Placements with 3rd-year Bachelor of Architectural Studies and 1st-year Master of Architecture Students

Virtual Co-op Placement Opportunities Bring on one more students from Laurentian University's McEwen School of Architecture (located in Sudbury, Ontario) to be your virtual employees! Student teams (third year students led by one Masters student) will work on a design competition of your choosing over the placement period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. This design competition project is a project students must complete in teams, for their corresponding co-op course (ARCH 0300 for third year and ARCH 5925 for Masters students) Our students are available anywhere from 420 to 560 hours (approximately 30-40 hours per week) of virtual work, for the duration period required in order to successfully submit a design competition entry on your behalf. Students should receive some remuneration for their work. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student project work will only occur virtually.
