The main goal of this role is to plan and coordinate a sustainable fashion week event scheduled for September. This event will include various activities, hubs, and community fringes focused on promoting eco-friendly and ethical fashion practices. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for sustainability in the fashion industry.

Deliverables
  1. Plan and coordinate all aspects of Sustainable Fashion Week, including scheduling, logistics, and programming.
  2. Identify and secure sponsors, partners, and vendors to support the event.
  3. Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability of the event.
  4. Collaborate with designers, brands, and other stakeholders to curate sustainable fashion showcases and exhibits.
  5. Organize workshops, panel discussions, and educational sessions related to sustainable fashion practices.
  6. Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts to raise awareness and attract attendees to the event.
  7. Liaise with venue management and ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.
  8. Recruit and manage volunteers to assist with event setup, operations, and teardown.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the success of the event, gathering feedback from participants and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Fashion Marketing, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in the fashion or sustainability sector.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of sustainable fashion principles and trends is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.


Mentorship

Students will receive dedicated support and mentorship throughout the project, including regular meetings with project supervisors to provide guidance and feedback. They will have access to necessary tools, technology, and data required for their research and analysis. Additionally, workshops and training sessions will be organized to enhance their skills and knowledge.
