They are focused on information analyses, organizational processes, business knowledge and judgement that managers must possess to devise strategy, to position their firms to sustain and maximize competitive advantage in the face of uncertainty and competition. Students will work on system development cycles in an interactive data base environment. The case projects are set in a team environment with the supervising faculty member servicing as your consultant and evaluator.We are looking for students to get hands-on experience of working with information systems, especially using Unified Modelling Language (UML).Students are experienced at the following:Software development languages (Visual Studio.NET, Java);Computer hardware, networking and operating systems (Windows, Unix and Linux);Data gathering, modelling and database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server 2000);Retrieval techniques of databases and programming languages (SQL, PLSQL, ADO.NET, JDBC); andTarget platforms, including Windows application development, networked software development, web application development (XHTML, JavaScript, ASP, Java).

They will work as part of a development team on an IT problem for an external industry client.
