The case projects are set in a team environment with the supervising faculty member servicing as your consultant and evaluator.We are looking for students to get hands-on experience of working with information systems, especially using Unified Modelling Language (UML).Students are experienced at the following:Software development languages (Visual Studio.NET, Java);Computer hardware, networking and operating systems (Windows, Unix and Linux);Data gathering, modelling and database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server 2000);Retrieval techniques of databases and programming languages (SQL, PLSQL, ADO.NET, JDBC); andTarget platforms, including Windows application development, networked software development, web application development (XHTML, JavaScript, ASP, Java).

Virtual Co-op Work Term in Electrical Engineering Technology

Virtual Work Term OpportunityBring on one or more students from Saskatchewan Polytechnic in the Electrical Engineering Technology program to work virtually, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the work term period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.Students are available for work terms starting August 31 – December 31, 2020 with a flexible start date up to November 1.Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will initially occur virtually. And we request that students complete a minimum of 320 hours either full time or part time. Students can complete up to 600 hours of work for your company.We request that some form of compensation is provided to the student. We are seeking paid experience via stipend, honorarium or hourly pay but are open to discussing unpaid opportunities as well. Typical hourly wage would be $19-30/hour.
Internet of Things- Waste Management and Urban Optimization

This project will occur in the student's third semester of study. They should be tasked with creating an IoT device to track and save data on various aspects of the waste management industry and urban resource management. The students will be asked to research your request and propose their solution. They will then build, code, and prototype their device. The final stage of the project will be the data collection phase, where the students will collect data that will be used for analysis.

Interactive Media Project

Students will be seeking a client directed opportunity as an option for their final project. These projects can vary in scope but should reflect a full scale project in industry. This is a great opportunity to get a start on a new project, revise something that has become outdated, or generate new content without having to fully commit to hiring someone or contracting a firm. The details for the Client Directed Project are as follows:It is a 60 hour unpaid project.The client directed project must be started and completed within March 20 - April 26, 2021, or as close to those dates as possible.Students are expected to observe, practice, and work on an interactive media project in order to give them experience within the industry.The client directed project course gives the student the chance to demonstrate their technical, artistic and organizational skills, and to continue developing their creative problem-solving skills in an applied manner.
