Student Connect Event
The student connect event will bring together students and community stakeholders to support the unhoused population in Edmonton. There are 2 main parts of the project, the first is that the student will consult with inner city organizations to understand how students at MacEwan University (across various faculties) can contribute their skills to assist in addressing the housing crisis. The second part of this project involves collaborating with students, professors and stakeholders at MacEwan University who are interested in these supports and services.
Level UP: Social Work Mentorship 2
There are up to 7 positions (5 of the positions are reserved for social work students, 1 position for a communications student and 1 position for a design student) available for students to work together as a team to strengthen social work preceptorship. In phase 1, students developed 3 main ideas: Design a workshop for 4th year BSW students to support their transition into the workforce; promote the profession in the community and development of orientation materials for social work students with a focus on professional social work development. Design students will help to develop online and print documents. Communication students will help develop strategies to disseminate information.
Level UP: Social Work Mentorship
There are 5 positions available for students to work together as a team to design a post graduate mentorship program for Bachelor of Social Work students as they transition into the workforce. This program will identify the needs of recent graduates and design a program that will support recent graduates in their professional social work development and identify. There will be a focus on strengthening the culture of mentorship in social work.
