Process Redesign & Streamline Operations For Recycling Design Firm
Number of individual students required: Flexible (approx 3-5) We are a recycling design firm in Ottawa that uses waste and scrap to build our furnishings, fixtures and displays. Our material sources typically come from construction site scrap, retired museum exhibits, old retails displays and other commercial sources. As part of this project, we want to focus on streamlining our operations and redesign the material collection segment of our production process. We would like to explore a new method of material collection - potentially providing access points or a new system to make it easier for our sources. We need insights to help us understand the best approach to doing this. Initial questions to brainstorm include, but are not limited to: 1. How can our current material collection process be refined? 2. Should we partner with local companies to increase the quantity of materials collected? 3. Should we launch a bin project or new material collection process? Is this viable? 4. How do we build awareness, acquire customers, and defend any early success? We are looking to gain alternative perspectives on potential operational tactics and better understand the current competitive market.
Advertising Strategy Plan - Re4m Design and Fabrication
We want students to help us build a marketing / advertising plan to grow and engage our various target markets: Custom made Signage and Decor for Food and Hospitality Businesses. Displays, Props and Structures for Retail and Businesses in the Event industry. Material Collection and Material Diversion for the Construction Industry, Museums and Event Industry and Retail Industry. We’d like to know how we can maximize use of different channels and get recommendations to improve our messaging. The main questions we’d like students to help us answer are the following: How do students currently perceive our brand and marketing, based on publicly available information about our company? What channels should we utilize for promotion, including ones we are not currently using? What budget is appropriate for advertising, given our goals? How could our messaging be updated to better explain our value proposition?
